Summary Description
What You Will Do:
You will produce internal websites from concept to production using Google sites platforms utilizing branding, design theory, critical thinking, content management, user experience best practices, analyzing user behavior and website performance.
You will work in an application modernization group, defining and evaluating legacy applications’ accessibility criteria, providing input on the level of accessibility for new applications, gathering business requirements, and serving as the in-house accessibility SME.

Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and lead requirements-gathering sessions with business stakeholders at a high-level to utilize for cost-estimating purposes.
Map website organization
- Develop and maintain an organizational hierarchy or site map for the website.
- Create and maintain a list of subject matter expert points of contact for each content page on the website. If something is incorrect or wrong with the page, the contractor will contact the subject matter expert
- Conduct a thorough review and audit of the website’s current content.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand functional and informational priorities.
- Design an intuitive site map
- Incorporate accessible design principles, ensuring clarity, ease of use, and compliance with government website standards.
- Ensure consistency in font style, color, and layout throughout the website for a cohesive user interface.
- Ensure websites are designed and content is relative to stakeholders.
- Conduct user testing to ensure intuitive navigation.
- Provide guidelines for future maintenance and updates to the organizational hierarchy.
Collect and monitor website analytics
- Create analytics functionality using Google Analytics for the website.
- Monitor and report traffic and usage of the website using analytics.
- Based on the analytics data, we will provide continuous recommendations to optimize content and user engagement.
Create new pages and post content
- Create new pages and work with subject matter experts to post new and revised content as needed.
- Copy edit new content using plain language, accessibility, and GSA style guidelines.
- The contractor shall revise existing content to ensure it is written and posted using plain language, accessibility, and GSA style guidelines.
- The contractor shall review and respond to user feedback about the accuracy and usability of content.
Website maintenance
- Develop and implement a website maintenance plan to periodically review the website content for accuracy and relevance.
- Correct broken links and missing documents identified during website maintenance.
- Conduct a Section 508 compliance test on all pages and create a log of accessibility issues to be corrected.
- Recommend removing outdated, irrelevant and redundant content as identified during website maintenance.
Qualifications (Minimum)
- Experience designing and developing websites
- Creating a style guide to ensure design and content consistency.
- Understanding of HTML and CSS
- Experience with Section 508 compliance and accessibility tools such Accessibility Management Platform (AMP).
- Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 Section 508 guidelines
- Experience facilitating meetings with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
- Experience with User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) best practices and preparing requirements that drive exceptional user experience
- Excellent presentations and communication (written and verbal)
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Previous experience with the Federal Government
- Using Content Management platforms such as Google Sites and Drupal
- Certification in User Experience / User Interface Design
- Manual Accessibility Testing using keyboard navigation, JAWS screen reader, WAVE® web accessibility evaluation and/or Accessible Name & Description Inspector (ANDI) tools to ensure the website provides an inclusive experience for all users, including those using assistive technologies.
