Job Description:

OmniSolve is seeking an experienced Data Architect to work closely with our federal government client’s end users and application development teams to recommend, architect, and optimize data structures based on the data storage and retrieval needs. The Data Architect will be responsible for ensuring the government follows formal data standards, maintaining a metadata registry, overseeing data management and reporting, optimizing data warehouses and other data sources. The successful candidate will also submit reports to management outlining changing data needs of our client and recommend solutions.

Responsibilities Include
  •  Analyze the reports metadata created by PBS' Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) tool to prepare for report conversion (conversion from OBIEE to Data 2 Decisions (D2D) platform).
  • Create a data map from the authoritative data sources to the set of reports and their requirements;
  • Create a plan for (1) retiring OBIEE reports or (2) transitioning OBIEE reports to Tableau, Microstrategy, and/or Jaspersoft reports under D2D platform.
  • Recreate 1 or 2 dashboards under D2D platform in an AWS MySQL environment using Tableau, Microstrategy, or Jaspersoft tools as a proof of concept to show before and after using Agile methodology
  • Analyze the requirements of the users who still use ODBC to run ad-hoc reporting and see if that functionality is still needed and if so, what tools we can provide them in the D2D environment.


The candidate must

  • Proficient in data architecture, data analysis, and data reporting
  • Be able to review different data models and attribution across varying schemas/DB
  • Be a Data Architect with traditional data modeling experience and experience with AWS and Cloud Data Architecture
  • Be an effective communicator
  • Possess strong attention to detail
  • Be logical thinkers and be able to analyze data, data structures, and use and be able to understand relationships and identify areas of interest or potential challenges.
  • Possess good problem-solving skills with ability to look at an issue that needs to be solved and come up with creative solutions quickly.
  • Be effective presenters to IT teams, end users, and leadership
  • Be familiar with Agile/Scrum
  • Proficiency with Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL database systems
  • Proficiency with Microstrategy and Jaspersoft reporting tools
  • Skilled in logical and physical data modeling
  • Skilled in data warehousing
  • Skilled in data querying language (SQL).


The following qualifications are preferred but not required,

  • PMP certification
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification
